who we are

The Healthy Family Market, in partnership with Sunlight Village will conveniently provide our inner-city communities of West Dayton with nutritious, affordable, fresh, quality foods and products that support health and wellness. We are strategically planning the Market within underserved low-income neighborhoods to address the nutritional needs of underserved individuals and families. This Market will be within walking distance of many residents and one of Dayton’s largest and most impoverished public housing complexes, The Desoto Bass. The Market will focus on WIC’s (Women Infant’s & Children) list of available foods options to support their daily nutritional needs. We will also accept SNAP and debit cards for purchases to ensure fresh produce, dairy, dry goods, meat, and specific healthy options are available to all especially, those struggling with chronic health concerns.

Food insecurity is a major problem throughout West Dayton and families lack accessible healthy and affordable food options. Many residents in the area use corner stores in which healthy food options are significantly less if available at all. The Healthy Family Market will be a full-service experience where our team shops for our customers based on their paper or electronic shopping list while working to increase health and nutrition awareness.

The Healthy Family Market Team will build upon years of professional and personal relationships with the community and residents to stay connected, address actual expressed concerns and utilize a very valuable marketing strategy, word of mouth. We want to ensure the community has buy in and knows the Market has a genuine concern to support the health and wellness of our West Dayton residents. We will continue to build and strengthen our partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and other community resources to help create a network that supports our efforts to improve the overall health and wellness of our most underserved communities.
