 The main purpose of the Connections For Success Youth Leadership Program is to provide youth and young adults with positive life options through adult leadership, advocacy, positive relationships with adults who have lived experience and can truly relate and understand the issues and circumstances in which our youth must navigate.

 We also work to expose them to constructive experiences and opportunities that help reduce risk factors such as isolation, juvenile justice involvement, poverty and trauma to name a few, while enhancing protective factors such as healthy beliefs, opportunities for positive peer involvement and social engagement, academic and workforce development and achievement, leadership and skill building to support their growth, development, resilience and self-sufficiency.  

It is important for our team of leaders and advocates to also provide youth with personal connectedness, supervision, guidance, a sense of community, values, and most importantly, hope for the future. Sunlight Village wants to help our youth and young adults by working intentionally and collaboratively allowing participants to make choices that will positively impact their lives as they transition from the Juvenile Justice System or try and navigate through the many barriers and hurdles that life presents. 

 We want to level the playing field for our youth and young adults, giving them a fair chance to not only succeed but to Thrive!
